Exterior Paint Colors
Decisions, Decisions...so we have been doing some work to the exterior of our house and now it's time to pick out the paint colors for the whole exterior, trim and shutters. Ahhh...this is such a HUGE decision and I'm having the hardest time picking out just the right color.
Our lovely house BEFORE...if all goes as planned, I will have after pics to show by the end of this week! So far we've redone the front porch and repaved the driveway.
Please Help! I would love your thoughts, opinions, suggestions...I need all the help I can get.
We've decided to paint the brick and I'm leaning towards a light, khakish color. I think the middle color, Sherwin Williams- Wool Skein, is the color we are going to go with. Think I'll stick with this color for the trim as well. Or should I go with a lighter color for the trim???
I love the color scheme of this house in Brookhaven. Sorry, this is a terrible pic!

Let the Sun Shine
After 7 straight days of rain, it's so nice to see the sun again! I love the windows in this room from Domino and all the wonderful sunlight they let in. This is a small space, but the designer took advantage of every inch of the room. The arrangement of framed prints along the wall draws the eye up and makes the room appear larger. Even though the room is small there is plenty of seating with the sofa, 2 club chairs and stool under the window. It just seems so warm and cozy. This room is fabulous!

Fall Is Here
Today marks the first day of fall, and Nanette Lepore's Manhattan townhouse designed by Jonathan Adler featured in the September 2008 issue of Elle Decor seems to evoke the feeling of fall to me. The colors, teal, eggplant, acid-green, plum, cocoa, orange, lipstick-red , seen throughout the house just screams fall.
I just want to cuddle up in that orange chair in a big, chunky sweater with a good book and stay warm by the fire. Unfortunately in Atlanta, I will not being doing this until about January. It's still 80 outside today....at least it's not raining though!!
This room and the master bedroom feel a little bit more summery to me, but they are still AWESOME!
Happy first day of fall! Hope you have a great one.

Go Dawgs!
The Bulldogs pulled off another W on Saturday night...barely. But hey, a win's a win! I think Annie, in her new Bulldog dress is the Dawgs good luck charm.
Last but not lease you could never go wrong with this 3560-03 sofa from Lee.
The weather is so nasty here in Atlanta. It will not stop raining. Hope everyone has a beautiful sofa to cuddle up on and stay dry! If you need a new sofa, give me a buzz...i'd love to help you find one!
Go Dawgs!
We had such a great weekend with Reg's family. How cute are Annie and her cousins?!
Ok, so I came across this HEINOUS sofa the other day and seriously wanted to vomit! I mean, I don't care how big of a dawg fan you are please, please do not put this thing in your house. PLEASE! It is horrible. I would stick with something a little more clean lined, like these beautiful sofas from South of Market. I love this slipcovered Charlotte wing sofa.

The leaves are falling
This Nina Campbell fabric and wallpaper for Osborne and Little is one of my all time favorites. I love the large scale maple leaves printed on 100% linen...so yummy. I'm dying to use it in my living room for drapery panels or pillows! The only problem is I need to win the lottery first.

Wow!
I love this image from Cottage Living. There is SO much going on yet the symmetry seems to balance it all out....kind of controlled chaos. Sissy's, from Blue Hydgangea, post yesterday about pairs got me thinking "do I favor symmetry or do I like more of a random method of decorating?". I definitely favor symmetry, but I love how this image has both symmetry and randomness....a pair of chairs and lamps, the plates are symmetrical but the arrangement is so surprising and random that it stops you in your tracks, the tablescape and benches and basket under the table are random. Achieving this mix between symmetry and randomness takes talent...I wish I knew who the designer was! I would like a lesson or two from him/her.

Tom Scheerer
I came across this gorgeous dining room on flickr and fell in love. The source for the photo was http://www.tomscheerer.com/..... of course I just had to check it out and was in awe over all of Tom Scheerer's beautiful interiors. This dining room is in a Brooklyn townhouse that Scheerer designed, and the entire house is to die for! Here are some more pics of the townhouse.....
I love the clean lines and arrangement of art over the sofa.
Here's to dreaming that one day my master bedroom will look just like this!
This headboard is awesome!! I love how they trimmed it out and then inset the upholstered pieces. I'm also crazy about the chaise at the end of the bed...how cool is it?? This bedroom is perfection!
Scheerer has mastered the art of mixing traditional with contemporary! You have to check out his website and be sure not over look a thing.

A Phenomenal weekend!
If I could use one word to describe our weekend in Sea Island, Georgia at the Cloister, it would be...PHENOMENAL! Reg and I both grew up going to Sea Island and have visited many times with friends, but we made a special trip down there this past weekend for my dear friend Natalie's wedding and stayed at The Cloister (a first for both of us). We got a great deal on our room, and even though it was still out of our price range, we decided to splurge. I will say this that it was worth every penny. Sea Island has undergone a complete renovation over the past 5 years and the new hotel, beach club, and spa are phenomenal! My pics from the weekend are terrible and don't give ANYTHING justice, but I still wanted to share them with you. I need to sign up for a photography class and get a new camera asap!
The bride and her mother both in Oscar De La Renta. Both girls look gorgeous and the gowns are PHENOMENAL!!
I love the bridesmaid's dresses too! I think this is actually a bridesmaids dress that you could wear again....phenomenal.
Here are the bride and groom as they entered the reception. The reception was at the beach club and everything was phenomenal! The tent was draped with fabric and had 3 beautiful chandeliers, the flowers were gorgeous and the food was sooo yummy.
This is a sitting area right as you walk in the beach club. I love the furniture and fabrics....so chic. It's not ANYTHING like the old beach club that we grew up going to which was just old school and classic, but the new chic look has grown on me.
The pic makes me want to cry because it didn't turn out :(. It is the only family pic we have from the weekend and it would have been a super cute one. I hate my camera!
All the Oaks with moss hanging down from them are soooo romantic and beautiful...they are the first thing that comes to mind when I think of Sea Island. They are all over the property and line Sea Island drive.
This is the walkway to the spa and fitness center. It was my first time seeing these facilities and they are phenomenal! No detail is overlooked!
So serene!
This little chapel is tucked away next the hotel and is so cute. I never knew it was there and I'm so glad we stumbled upon it.

Scott's
Last Thursday I ventured over to Scott Antique Market, "The worlds largest monthly indoor antique show", and had a ball scouring for treasures. Here are some cool finds I saw and purchased...
Goodies I Saw: Orange is such a hot color right now and I loved this chinoiserie tray table.

I thought these were awesome and of course, they were all sold. My husband would LOVE to one day have a real dear head over the mantel and you know I would never let that fly, but I could settle for one of these beauties.
Beautiful Suzani pillows
Basket lights galore and the prices weren't too bad either. They ranged from $125-$500 electrified.
I loved these antique french baskets. They would look awesome hanging over a sofa.
I thought these lanterns were pretty cool too. We are redoing the front of our house and I'm on the hunt for some awesome lanterns to go on either side of the door. Let me know if you see any!
What I Bought....
What I Bought....
This lovely coffee table....It is the perfect size for our space! Our old one was way too big, and with Annie's play gear taking of the floor, we needed to downsize asap. I love my new purchase!
These baskets were a last minute purchase as I was walking to my car. I might hang them on the wall in the family room or just use them to serve chips and salsa. I think they are so fun!
Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and has a great week. I'll fill y'all in tomorrow on our weekend getaway to Sea Island.
