Upholstered Headboards...gotta love them!

You've gotta love an upholstered headboard! When designing one the sky is the limit…as long as you have a good upholsterer. Styles can range from a simple rectangle to a crazy curved silhouette. You can add tufting, nailheads and use just about any fabric under the sun. Here some headboards that make me smile….

Judy Bentley from AH&L

Jonathan Berger from House Beautiful

T. Keller Donovan from Southern Accents

Phoebe Howard from Southern Accents

Jacqueline Derrey Segura from House Beautiful

Stephen Shubel from House Beautiful

Lynn Morgan from House Beautiful

This is the headboard in my bedroom. It was one of the first pieces of furniture I purchased after I got married. I upholstered the headboard in a natural colored linen so it will go with pretty much anything...since I still have yet to decide on additional fabrics for the master bedroom!

This is the headboard my husband and I made for the guest bedroom. It was a pitiful attempt at a DIY project. It will do for now though!

I have and awesome upholsterer if anyone is the market for a new headboard! Just let me know.

We're Back!

Annie's first vacation to Ponte Vedra was amazing. She was a little angel, of course! I forget how much I love the beach and how relaxing and rejuvenating a much needed vacation can be. A special thank you to Reg's parents for such a wonderful trip!

If I had my own beach house I would jump on these summer sale steals from Wisteria! You have to check them out http://www.wisteria.com/departments.asp?dept=1072.

Nautical Flag Accent Pillows- $44.85

What a steal!! If I had a place for these in my house I would get them in a heartbeat.

Distressed Wooden Buoys- $25.35 each

Folk Art Fish- Set of 3 $181.30

Round Lorenzo Cameo Shadowbox- $99.60

Galbraith and Paul

Galbraith and Paul fabrics are my ABSOLUTE favorite! The fabrics are all hand block printed on a variety of grounds and in a ton of AWESOME patterns and colors. They also hand block print pendant lighting and have a line of hand tufted rugs. You have to check out their website to learn more http://www.galbraithandpaul.com/. Unfortunately, they are available to the trade only but Room & Board does sell some of their pillows and lighting http://www.roomandboard.com/.

Fabrics are made to order in the Galbraith and Paul studio in Philadelpia, PA.

I would love to use this pattern in Annie's big girl room.
Pattern- Flower Power in Pink

Love this pattern- Zinnia in Sky

Doesn't this look familiar?? It is the background of my title!
Pattern- Citrus in Silver

My bestest friend Ansley was kind enough to give me about a 1 1/2 yards of the sweet pea fabric that she had left over. I made 2 20" pillows out of it and love them!! I would die to get my hands on some more of this fabric.

Here are a few installations all compliments of http://www.galbraithandpaul.com/...

These pendant lights are sooo cool!!

LOVE the rugs too.

Feel free to contact me if anything interests you!

Annie's 1st Week Home

It's a girl!! Our sweet Annie was born on June 24, 2009 at 3:04 pm. She weighed 7lbs 7.8oz and was 21" long. She is just perfect!

On her way home from the hospital. She loves riding in the car.

Exhausted after her first visit to Dr. Harris on June 30th. She had a great check up and now weighs 7lbs 8.4oz. She is growing everday!!

On Thursday Laura Hunter from Moms on Call came to the house to teach us all the basics of feeding, bathing, sleeping and settling little Annie into a daily routine. We learned the perfect swaddle (see above pic), which with the sound machine is the key to getting her to sleep. Annie loves her new routine and is truly an angel. We put her to bed at 10:00 and she only wakes up once at 2:00 to eat and then sleeps until about 6:30. Mom and Dad are loving their sleep too!!
Check out Laura's website www.momsoncall.com. She is the baby whisperer and a life saver for new parents!

Annie's first bath

Annie participated in her first neighborhood 4th of July parade on Saturday. The fire engine sirens kind of scared her but all in all she loved meeting all the neighbors and strolling in the parade.

Being a mom is much more time consuming than I ever imagined and some how the days just fly by! Please forgive for me taking so long to update the blog :)!
